Local chefs will be competing for the title of best jambalaya during Capital Area United Way’s annual Jambalaya Jam tonight. The event takes place at North Boulevard’s Town Square 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Among the festivities is the kid-friendly Knock Knock Museum’s Imagination Playground. Variety band MoJeaux will bring the musical jams, and the event also features an appearance from honorary Jambalaya Jam queen/LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux. At this year’s event, 49 teams will go head-to-head, prepping their recipes and serving up their takes on the classic Cajun dish. Tickets start at $7 for a to-go plate, and $10 gets you a jam sampler. Click here for more information and to buy tickets. —Matthew Sigur
