Jay Ducote launches barbecue sauce with week of events

Local chef and food writer Jay Ducote is celebrating the release of his Jay D’s Louisiana Barbecue Sauce with five days of events next week. Beausoleil Restaurant & Bar will host the official launch party Monday, July 1, at 6 p.m. There, Chef Nathan Gresham will prepare a variety of eats featuring the sauce. On Tuesday, Red Stick Spice Company will host Ducote from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. for a cooking demo featuring slow-cooked brisket sliders and grilled sausage. Head to Calandro’s Perkins Road location (12732 Perkins Road) Thursday for a local foods blowout 3 p.m.-8 p.m. On the Fourth of July, Frankie’s Dawg House is hosting its third annual hot dog eating contest at noon.
