Leah Gray – Aristocracy owner describes her ideal party

Power to the people. Collectively they can uplift or downshift a social gathering in no time flat.

Leah Gray, owner of Aristocracy Apparel, the latest clothing retailer to relocate to downtown, understands this. She puts a high premium on her guest list.

“Whom you surround yourself with for a good time is what makes it a good time,” she says.

One walk through her eclectic and art-filled men’s clothing store in the historic Kress building on Third Street reveals that Gray is a master of atmosphere as well. As her store location proves, she’s a fan of Baton Rouge’s growing downtown cultural district and would throw her ideal party there in the heart of the oldest part of the city.

Though her music tastes run the gamut, for her parties she aims for an energetic and danceable vibe. “I like the Miami feel,” Gray says. “My fantasy party would definitely have DJs like Sharam, Carl Cox or Erick Morillo.”
