See local children perform in ‘Peter Pan Jr.’

Take a trip to Never Land as participants in the Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. musical production camp perform this weekend. The production, based on the play by J.M. Barrie and the 1953 Disney film, will be performed entirely by the young participants (ages 8-13) of the 2014 Manship Theatre Musical Production camp. The fantasy adventure tells the story of a family taken to Never Land by Tinker Bell to help Peter Pan defeat the crooked Captain Hook. Since Disney adapted Barrie’s tale, the story has been repurposed time and time again, most notably in 1991 by Steven Spielberg with the film Hook. Show times are 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $10 online.
