View authentic Egyptian tapestries

The Louisiana Art & Science Museum continues to offer exciting opportunities for history enthusiasts through its exhibits. An exhibit featuring tapestries made by Egyptian students of the Kunooz School in Harrania, a village near Cairo, will be on display, starting today. The school followed the philosophy and practices set by Ramses Wissa Wassef, whose experimental and creative techniques evolved into the highly acclaimed Wissa Wassef Art Center. A number of the tapestries date back to the 1970s. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the museum is $7.25 for adults, $6.25 for children 2-12 and seniors 65 and older, and free for college students with ID and museum members. For more information, click here.
