Frank Miller’s beloved comic book series returns to the silver screen. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is the sequel to 2005’s Sin City. Directed by Robert Rodriguez and featuring a cast including Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke and Clive Owen, Sin City went on to become one of the more popular films of the year. It didn’t hurt that the film looked exactly like Miller’s panels. After numerous delays and almost a decade of false starts, A Dame to Kill For finally wrapped production last year in New Orleans. Like its predecessor, the film features a great cast. Willis and Rourke have returned, reprising their roles of Hartigan and Marv, respectively. The cast also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert and Eva Green. If this new entry in the franchise tones down the over-serious narration, A Dame to Kill For could give the late summer cinema, and Rodriguez’s career, a much needed kick in the behind. Rated R.
