Some of Baton Rouge’s finest musicians will perform a classic album Thursday for the monthly Drop the Needle concert. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. at Chelsea’s Café. Cover is $10. For this month’s show, local musicians will perform The Rolling Stones’ Beggars Banquet from start to finish as well as a few other of the band’s classic tracks. Released in 1968, Beggars Banquet is considered one of the greatest albums of all time and marked a shift in the Stones’ sound. The album starts with “Sympathy for the Devil” and also features “Street Fighting Man,” both of which have become staples on classic rock radio. RSVP and get more information.
