Literature’s favorite master of disguise and deduction returns this Friday with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Reprising his role as the quirky and quick-witted detective-for-hire, Robert Downey Jr. plays Holmes opposite his even-keeled sidekick Dr. Watson, played again by Jude Law. Joined by a cutthroat gypsy played by Noomi Rapace, this time, Holmes faces the greatest challenge of his career in the form of the nefarious Prof. Moriarity, who appeared in the 2009 original as only the elusive and shrouded mastermind behind the theft of a proto-radio device, but gets actual face-time now in the form of Mad Men star Jared Harris. Stephen Fry and Rachel McAdams co-star. Rated PG-13.
