Brian Dixon, one of the presenters at the upcoming TEDxLSU, and founder of Mentorship Academy, tells me he believes something magical will happen on March 9 in the rooms where TEDxLSU will be experienced, either live or live-streamed. All it takes is a willing audience and a speaker willing to take a risk. The people who will attend will be action oriented, and we hope to see some real action come out of the event.
Chesley Heymsfield has a knack for peacefully working with tough personalities. While many people may be intimidated (or too disgusted) to work with big egos and abrasive temperaments, Chesley chooses to pinpoint her attention on the talent within the ogre. This laser focus shields her from the ups and downs that come with the territory from working with challenging personalities, and is one of the many skills she uses to make big dreams a reality.

Richard Hanley of Hanley's Foods is a startup food entrepreneur who launched his first product, Sensation Salad Dressing, a couple months ago. He is a big believer in sustainable, organic food, and the salad dressing he's bottled up reflects those beliefs. From the organic lemon juice (which is surprisingly difficult to source in bulk for a fledgling food manufacturer) to an equity structure that includes “1% For the Planet,” he's created a product that he's proud of.

Communities and organizations around the world celebrated entrepreneurship, with a common goal to inspire young people to pursue entrepreneurship as a life calling. Locally, we celebrated the global movement with our own twist during Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week.
