G20: Local < -- > National < -- > Global G20: Local < -- > National < -- > Global

While news reports about this week's G20 Leaders' Summit, held in Los Cabos, Mexico, have focused on the Greek economic crisis, it appears something else is afoot.

The G20 Leaders' Summit is an annual meeting of world leaders from the top 20 economies of the world, representing 90% of the world's economy. This year's meeting is hosted by Mexico.

Each year, these world leaders issue a document, or “communiqué,” that represents their collective commitments to shaping global economic policy.

A draft of this year's document states the leaders "are united in [their] resolve to promote growth and jobs." The leaders will announce that a "coordinated Los Cabos Growth and Jobs Action Plan" will be crafted to achieve those goals.

Let's back up two weeks. A group of 400 young entrepreneurs met in Mexico two weeks ago to draft their own communiqué, calling for support for young entrepreneurs as the solution to the global economic problem.

Kevin Langley, a Baton Rouge local and owner of New Orleans-based Ellis Construction, was the official point person when this group delivered their communiqué to Mexico's President Felipe Calderon, the host of this year's G20 Summit. President Calderon promised to work these ideas into the official G20 Communique.

After days of news reports about G20 politics, the Euro, and the Greek crisis, the leaders are now committing to a plan of action that will focus on growth and jobs.

In this video interview with Fox Business Market Now, Langley argues entrepreneurs are creating more jobs than policymakers.

The G20 solution sure smells like entrepreneurship.

Chef and 225 contributor Jay D. Ducote and Chef Chris Wadsworth hosted the Bad Guys, Good Eats! dinner at Restaurant IPO Wednesday night. The dinner was themed around famous movie villains, pairing cocktails and ales with plates of food resembling famous baddies like The Joker, Lord Voldemort, Hannibal Lector, and many others. The highlights of the night were the three middle courses—a black bean soup laced with blood sausage to signify Lord Voldemort, a brace of coneys on black eyed peas resembling Sauron, and lamb medallions atop a fava bean puree to pay homage to the famous favorite of Hannibal Lector.
