Maybe I am the last one to know, but I just realized over the past few months the abundance of activities happening at Whole Foods in Towne Center. Our family has shopped there since the opening weekend several years ago, but it wasn't until my mother-in-law took my daughter to a cupcake decorating class (which was awesome, by the way) that I learned about the classes, music and fitness opportunities at the store.
If you visit wholefoodsmarket.com, you can locate a schedule of events for the Baton Rouge store. This month alone they are offering free Pilates classes, performances by local musicians and much more. For my family, I especially love the Aug. 30 Love Your Pet Day, where from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. your pet can sample treats (organic and whole wheat I am sure!), have his/her picture taken and win prizes. Previously in the month an ABC's of Table Manners class was offered. A friend enrolled her son and she gave it high praises for teaching her child proper table manners. I spoke with the class instructor and she plans to offer another class at Whole Foods in September. Some classes, such as this one, do require advance registration and payment, so make sure you check with the customer service desk if you see an event that interests your family.
