Arnaudville’s Bayou Teche Brewing will release its French-style Christmas ale Biere Noel Friday, Dec. 5, at Whole Foods in Lafayette. The event starts at 6 p.m. and features live zydeco music as well as the first bottles of the new beer available for purchase. The brewery will also host a release party at its tap room Saturday, Dec. 6, starting at noon. The Cajun band Sur la Galerie will perform at 2 p.m., and gumbo will be served. This is a limited-release, single-batch beer, with a tart cherry aroma, vanilla oakiness and whiskey flavor. To create this seasonal beer, Bayou Teche used heavily roasted malts from France and Germany. Biere Noel will be available in 22-oz. Belgian-style bottles and on tap at a few places around the state.
