Inaugural ‘Muddy River Revue’ set for Jolie Pearl this Thursday
Swamp blues will come to life with the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation and Baton Rouge Blues Festival’s “Muddy River Revue: Swamp Blues Revisited.”
On Thursday, Sept. 8, 7-10 p.m. at Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar, local music acts will put their own spin on classic Swamp blues songs. Planned performances for Thursday include Ship of Fools, Ryan Harris, Palomino Darling, Pacifico and Denton Hatcher.
According to the event’s Facebook page, the revue is first come, first served and expected to sell out. Suggested donations to the foundation and festival will be accepted at the door.

Barcadia begins express lunch, updates dinner menu
Baton Rouge’s Barcadia at 3347 Highland Road is offering new lunch menu options—and promising to serve them in 10 minutes.
The Express Lunch menu is available Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and offers a variety of paninis, salads, soups and gourmet hot dogs starting at $6.99.
The special menu includes the La Tigra panini, the Fried Crawfish salad and the Chicago gourmet dog. Check out the restaurant’s full Express Lunch menu on its Facebook page.
Barcadia also added updates to its dinner menu. Both menus are now available at the LSU North Gates restaurant.
Dudley DeBosier holding 2nd annual LSU Kickoff Party
Injury lawyers Dudley DeBosier is holding its second annual LSU Kickoff Party on Friday, Sept. 9, 4-6 p.m.
The party, which is free and open to all ages, will be at the law firm’s offices, 1075 Government St. The event includes food, music, prizes and more, according to a press release.
“With all the recent events happening in Baton Rouge, the team members at Dudley DeBosier are especially excited to offer this free event to the community,” the press release says.
Jay Ducote, Roux 61 and Tin Roof to hold ‘Hot Chicken on a Tin Roof’ Friday
Bite and Booze’s Jay Ducote is teaming up with Roux 61 Seafood & Grill and Tin Roof Brewing Company for a food event to celebrate the beginning of LSU’s football season on Friday, Sept. 9.

The event is a “Nashville Hot Chicken Pop-Up,” according to the Facebook event page. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. at Tin Roof, 1624 Wyoming St., with plates of hot chicken, Southern greens plus macaroni and cheese for $10. Plates will be offered until they sell out.
Music will be provided by Joey Holaway. Twenty percent of food and beer purchases will go to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank as part of flood relief efforts.
Attendees younger than 21 are welcome to attend but will not be allowed inside the brewery.
