The French Quarter institution finally makes its way to the Red Stick. Acme Oyster House puts down roots on Perkins at the former site of Wal-Mart and Books-A-Million. The menu is stuffed with Louisiana classics such as “Acme poopa,” your favorite soup or gumbo served in a fresh bread bowl, and oyster Rockefeller soup infused with a hint of herbsaint. But this namesake is most famous for oysters, served icy cold on the half-shell.

Tried this spot a couple weeks ago. It was very good. We sat at the bar and was greeted by a fantastically nice fella that served us up a dozen on the half shell immediately. the shucker was the best part of the experience. For lunch I had a shrimp salad wrap that was pretty darn tasty. It took a while to get it though.
My only complaint about the place was the beer service. I absolutely hated the large frozen goblets they served the beer in. First off, you should never freeze a beer mug or glass. It ruins the head retention and flavor of a beer. If you are drinking a thin and tasteless Bud, Miller, or Coors it is fine but if you are enjoying a fine craft brew it is just a slap in the face to the craft brewer.
I asked for a non-frozen glass and was responded to kind of rudely at first by the waitress at the bar. She obliged though by putting a goblet in the dishwasher to un-freeze it and then proceed to pour a nice Abita Holiday Ale into a hot glass! It still tasted better than being served in the frozen mug though. Acme, loose the goblets and get some proper pint glasses. Pour that Abita and Newcastle you have on draught properly.

Fried shrimp were not cooked and when I told waiter he said he'd have them cook them some more. Well, I got them back all greasy (and so were my fries) and he said "they're cooked now".
The food and the waiter had NO TASTE.
