The Details with The Brighton School: Shining a light on dyslexia awareness

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. The International Dyslexia Association estimates 15 to 20 percent of the population has symptoms of dyslexia, including inaccurate reading, difficulty spelling, or struggles with writing. Further, 85 percent of children who meet criteria for special education services have a primary learning disability in reading and language processing. Located in Baton Rouge, The Brighton School is a K-12 school for students with dyslexia and related language-based differences. The school’s highly- trained faculty and therapists shine the light on dyslexia every day. Visit the school’s website at thebrightonschool.org to learn more.
