“At the Phoenix Museum of Art, there is a mixed-media installation by Yayoi Kusama called Make Your Move: You Who Are Getting Obliterated in the Dancing Swarm of Fireflies. It’s a dark room with black marble floors and filled with computer-controlled LED lights. There’s a sense of peace in there, and it puts me in touch with my inner-childhood. The artist checked herself into a psych ward for a few months to meditate on this idea. The result is a dark, moody experience that I wish I could install in my bedroom.”
