Well Suited: Mama Cass

In honor of my favorite Mama, this week’s “Well Suited” is all about Mama Cass Elliot of The Mamas & the Papas. Though some may argue that their music is too hippie-dippie for today, I still love a good record-playing night where “Creeque Alley” is on repeat. Mama Cass was arguably the most memorable one of the group and has always been the most distinguished. Legend has it that her vocal range increased three notes after a concussion while with one of her early bands. Crazy!

Today’s outfit is a tribute to her tent dresses in wild colors and prints! A tent dress was a staple in any 1960s gal’s closet. My personal favorite perk of wearing them today? Eatin’ room. Because the print and colors are so bold, accessories are best kept to a minimum. A neutral shoe paired with an eye-catching pair of clip-ons make the perfect complements to the dress.

If Mama Cass were still alive, I am sure she would have worn this dress with pride. And go-go boots.
