Award-winning cake shop could open a second Baton Rouge location next year
Baton Rouge’s Nothing Bundt Cakes cleaned up quite nicely at a recent corporate convention.
At last week’s 2015 Nothing Bundt Cakes Franchisee Convention in Las Vegas, the Baton Rouge location won five awards, including Bakery of the Year. Operators Kellie Linton and Allison Ward and owner operator Elizabeth Novak represented the Capital City location at the event. Linton says the store was a little shocked to win.
“We went up against all 170 stores in the country,” she says. “We didn’t even expect to be nominated. We were pretty impressed.”

The Bakery of the Year award is based on consumer reviews, social media interaction and a secret shopper rating. The Baton Rouge location also won two awards based on sales, the WOW! Bakery of the Year award, which is based on customer reviews and secret shopper ratings, and the Marketing Guru award, which was given to owner Elizabeth Novak for her community networking and work.
Looking forward, Linton says Baton Rouge’s Nothing Bundt Cakes is staying busy and is planning a second location soon.
“We are constantly growing,” she says. “We are always rearranging the store and getting the most out of every square inch. Hopefully, we will have a new, second store within the next year, too. That’s the goal.”
