The Courtyard Gifts & Interiors closed Tuesday, March 31, after six years in business. And with that closure comes the closing of its in-house restaurant The Blue Rose Café.

However, chef/owner Christina Cox is optimistic about the café’s future. Cox is currently looking for a location to reopen her business.

“We are still looking for a perfect place,” Cox says, explaining that the new location will combine her business with her mother’s catering business, Perfect Choice, which has been open since 2006. “We are thinking of setting up along the lines of the Jones Creek area.”

The 21-year-old Louisiana Culinary Institute graduate opened The Blue Rose Café last July and says business went well.

“We had a great run,” Cox says. “We hate that we have to leave.”

The new location will feature the same menu as its predecessor, offering soups, salads, sandwiches and even a few Italian dishes. Cox says she’s hopeful the new location will open toward the middle of the year.

“We’re thinking no later than August or September,” she says. “We’re going to add a few things and add some desserts. We might include a bar for mixed drinks to go along with the food as well.”
