Blue Runner Foods, a Gonzales foods company known for its canned, Creole cream style red beans, is now getting into the dry red and navy beans business, according to an article from The Advocate.
Initially, the dry beans will be sold in stores across southeastern Louisiana. A company representative told the newspaper that the initial rollout was conservative due to ordering the beans six to seven months in advance. The beans are available now in one-pound bags through the Blue Runner website.
The article also says that Blue Runner is waiting for the Gonzales Planning and Zoning Commission to approve plans for a 15,000-square-foot storage and distribution building at its facility. The new building is a $2 million investment.
