Dinner and a movie at Manship Theatre 

Head to the Manship Theatre Thursday, Nov. 5, for dinner and a movie featuring Risky Business and a three-course meal from Capital City Grill.

Doughnut decorating at free community event

Elite Gymnastics will host a free family event Sunday, Nov. 8, featuring a Thanksgiving food drive, donut decorating, food vendors and other kid-friendly activities.

Mr. Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts will set up a donut decorating station and provide donut holes, cake donut pieces and toppings for decorating.

Other food vendors include Spotter’s, Bull Chicks and Cupcake Junkie. The event also features raffles, an indoor playground, arts and crafts and more.

The event is 3 p.m.-6 p.m., and admission is free. Elite Gymnastics is at 8321 Bluebonnet Blvd. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP here.


Dine in the dark at Galatoire’s Bistro Nov. 10

Galatoire’s Bistro is partnering with Lighthouse Louisiana to host “Dining in the Dark,” a fundraising dinner designed to bring awareness for the blind.

Patrons are encouraged to eat while blindfolded to highlight the daily experiences of the visually impaired. The dinner includes five courses and wine pairings.

The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $200 and proceeds benefit Lighthouse America and the visually impaired. Purchase tickets here.


Lava Cantina hosts Scott Weiland concert with build-your-own-taco bar Nov. 10

Scott Weiland (of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fame) and the Wildabouts perform at Lava Cantina next Tuesday, Nov. 10.

During the show, guests can build their own taco plate at the $10 taco table.

Doors open at 7 p.m. General admission is $30 or $35 to $45 for reserved tables. A meet and greet pass is available for an extra $75 that includes a photo with Scott Weiland, hors d’oeuvres before the show and an autographed poster. Purchase tickets here.


The Village at Willow Grove hosts Village Tunez event Nov. 12

Restaurants and retailers at The Village at Willow Grove, including Bistro Byronz, Fresh Kitchen and others will extend hours and offer specials to coincide with a block party featuring live music from Rusty Yates.

The event is the second iteration of the shopping center’s fall music series. Fresh Kitchen will also offer samples of its new menu items.

Village Tunez will take place Nov. 12, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
