Rotolo’s Pizzeria teamed up with local schoolchildren this April for the sixth annual Homegrown Love for Mom program. This year, the pizza chain donated around 1,300 recycled cups, 17,000 pounds of soil and 1,300 tomato plants to children throughout the greater Baton Rouge area. Just in time for Mother’s Day, children from 12 participating schools received tomato plants to bring home to their mothers. The program aims to to show students and teachers the importance of recycling, healthy eating and gardening. Participating schools included St. George School, Country Day School, BR Charter Academy Mid City and St. Thomas More School.
