Dine Roundup: Sea to Table, Halloween wine dinner and more food events

Sea to Table event promotes Gulf seafood

Beausoleil executive chef and co-owner Nathan Gresham will serve up fresh seafood dishes at Whole Foods Market Oct. 28 at 6 p.m.

Whole Foods stores around Louisiana are hosting Sea to Table events to promote fresh Gulf seafood that’s currently in season and sustainable seafood sourcing.

Attendees can sample some of Gresham’s seasonal recipes featuring Gulf seafood and enjoy wine pairings.

Tickets are $25 per person and include samples, wine pairings and a tour of the Whole Foods seafood department. Whole Foods Market representatives and the LSU AgCenter will discuss sustainability and sea-to-table seafood sourcing.

Fifth anniversary celebration:
Speaking of the local favorite restaurant, Beausoleil will mark its fifth anniversary during brunch Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 24-25, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Co-owner Jeff Conaway says patrons should expect drink specials on mimosas and bloody Marys both days, and live music on Sunday. Beausoleil is at 7731 Jefferson Highway.

Blend hosts Halloween-themed wine dinner next week

Blend will host a Halloween dinner featuring music from the V-Tones Oct. 29, 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

The Halloween wine dinner will work differently than normal Blend wine dinners, general manager Andy Blouin says.

Specialty cocktails using spiced and coconuts rums will be served 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. Beginning at 7 p.m., four wine stations will serve samples of pairings for passed hors d’oeuvres.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes. The event will be less formal than usual and will work almost as an “adult trick-or-treat,” Blouin says.

Tickets are $75 per person. Buy tickets and make reservations by calling 757-5645 or emailing [email protected].

Adoption day at Zea Rotisserie & Grill

Zea Rotisserie & Grill in the Towne Center will host a dog adoption day Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m.

The event, sponsored by the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society, will take place in front of the restaurant until 3 p.m.

Zea is partnering with CAAWS to donate 10 percent of sales brought in during the event to animal welfare.
