For those still scrambling for Memorial Day weekend plans, look no further than the 49th annual Jambalaya Festival in Gonzales.
The festival kicks off with a carnival Thursday, May 26, 5-10 p.m. and continues through Sunday, May 29, with several cooking contests, live music, a 5K and 1-mile fun run and more.

Carnival, 5-10 p.m.

• Jambalaya cooking contest, heats one through four are 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Mini Pot Champ of Champs: 6 p.m.
• Carnival: 5-10 p.m.
Saturday, May 28
• Jambalaya Cooking Contest, heats five through eight are 6:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (Semi-finalists announced at 6:30 p.m.)
• 1-mile Fun Run: 8 a.m.
• 5K run: 8:30 a.m. (Registration for both runs begins at 7 a.m.)
• Mini Pot Cooking Contest: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
• Champ of Champs: 2:30-5:30 p.m. (Champ of Champs winner announced at 6:30 p.m.)
• Carnival: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Sunday, May 29
• Semi-finals: 6-10 a.m. (Finalists announced at noon)
• Finals: 1:30-5 p.m. (World Champion announced at 6:30 p.m.)
• Carnival: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
The music lineup
The festival grounds boast three music stages, and nearly 25 bands will perform throughout the weekend. Live music begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday. See the full lineup here.

Tickets
Weekend passes are available for $60 per person, or attendees can purchase single-day passes for $20 on Thursday or $25 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
