Newk’s Eatery, a fast-casual restaurant based out of Jackson, Mississippi, will hold the grand opening of its first Baton Rouge location Monday, March 23, according to a press release.
The Capital City’s first Newk’s is set to open at 7211 Corporate Blvd. in Towne Center. The restaurant offers indoor dining for about 150 guests and patio dining for nearly 50 more in its approximately 5,000 square feet of space. A second location will open at 3332 Lake St. in the former Mr. Gatti’s. Newk’s is also planning a third Capital City location in Perkins Rowe this summer.

By the end of the year, the restaurant expects to have nine Louisiana-based locations.
The restaurant offers sandwiches, pizzas, salads and soups. The Louisiana locations will feature Cajun-inspired entrees such as shrimp poboys and shrimp remoulade salad.
