Red Stick Farmers Market’s Thursday markets are back, giving locals two opportunities to shop for fresh, local produce weekly. On Thursday, the farmers market will be set up behind Pennington Biomedical Research Center at 6400 Perkins Road, 8 a.m.-noon. The Saturday market will be held 8 a.m.-noon at Fifth and Main streets next to the Main Street Market. If raining Saturday, the farmers market will be located inside the Galvez Plaza parking garage.
Louisiana strawberries, citrus, artisan breads, king cakes and seafood are just some of the goods you can find this week at the markets. The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners will also have tips on planting spring gardens Saturday. This Saturday’s Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration kicks off at 10 a.m. inside the Main Street Market.
