225’s September 2024 issue, on stands now, is a guide to fall festivals

A taste of Munich at Baton Rouge Oktoberfest. More than 50 whiskeys ready for sampling at the Louisiana Bourbon Festival. And hundreds of clever costumes on display during the Fifolet Halloween Festival.

This is just a small slice of all the fun on the Capital Region calendar between now and late November—when White Light Night will, of course, unofficially ring in the holidays.

For our September issue, the 225 team compiled a guide to more than 35 festivals and gatherings celebrating food, music, the arts and local culture this fall across the Red Stick and within driving distance.

Also in this month’s edition, we’re diving into the mahjong trend that is spreading across Baton Rouge, the story behind south Louisiana’s iconic doberge cake and our food critic’s take on the menu at Zee Zee’s.

Flip through it all below, and be sure to pick up the print copy on newsstands now around the Capital Region.

And no matter what’s on your fall calendar, soak it in! We’ll see you on the festival grounds.
