Tiger Pride Podcast: Why we think LSU is being overlooked in its season-opening matchup with Miami

Game week is finally here!

We’ve all waited all offseason for this magnificent week, which will finally feature some actual football. And some good football, at that.

No. 25 LSU will face No. 8 Miami in its season-opening showdown Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The outlook on LSU nationally is all over the map, with some pundits saying the Tigers could win 10 games this year and others predicting a 5-7 season.

Regardless of what unfolds in 2018, it all starts with the Hurricanes. Miami was ranked as high as No. 2 in the country last season, before stumbling in its final three games of the season to finish ranked No. 13—slightly ahead of where LSU finished at No. 18.

Both teams enter the year with super strong defenses and questions galore on the offense. The Hurricanes are currently favored by about three points in the matchup, but Tiger Pride Podcast co-hosts Mark Clements and Jerit Roser tell you why they think the Tigers might actually have an upper hand in this matchup. Listen below!
