Summer Insider’s Guide: NOLA Zydeco Fest

Why We Love It

NOLA Zydeco Fest is the only Zydeco organization committed to preserving Creole Zydeco culture in New Orleans, the most historic and notable city in the U.S. for music.

A Must Do

On Saturday, June 10th, experience live Zydeco music by Lil Nathan and The Zydeco Big Timers, Rusty Metoyer and The Zydeco Krush, Alphonse Ardoin and The Zydeco Kings, and Koray Broussard and The Zydeco Unit. After you’ve heard it, try Zydeco dance lessons by Harold Guillory, The King of Zydeco, and Arthur Corbin of Everlasting Dance. Experience the Zydeco culture while eating some of the most delicious Creole and Cajun food.

What’s New This Summer

Roll your sleeves up because all-you-can-eat crawfish is coming this summer! Bring the family and enjoy the new kids zone. A playground, crafts and other fun activities are perfect ways to entertain your kids while you take in the Zydeco culture. Also coming this summer is a horse and carriage photo op!

Insider’s Secret

This annual event is created to preserve one of Louisiana’s most notable genres, Zydeco. The organizers are great-granddaughters of Zydeco pioneer Alphonse “Bois Sec” Ardoin.
