Move over, Tesla. The auto industry’s first name in luxury, Mercedes-Benz, presents its 2023 all-electric series, a dynamic line-up that combines indulgence with green power and the performance, comfort and style consumers expect from the German automaker.
It’s a huge priority for the company, says Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge Certified Sales Consultant Trey Bagbey. In 2021, Mercedes-Benz announced it would be positioned to sell all-electric vehicles by the end of the decade, where markets allow.
Baton Rouge drivers are getting on board.
“We’ve seen a lot of interest in our all-electric line, including from our repeat customers, who are already sold on the excellence of the brand,” Bagbey says. “Moving into a Mercedes e-vehicle is just the natural progression since more drivers want to integrate this option into their lifestyle.”
Consumers are less concerned about range and charging
Electric vehicles have seen exponential growth across the globe since the pandemic, according to the nonprofit International Energy Agency. And drivers who might have been concerned about issues like range are now finding a significantly expanded charging infrastructure.
Mercedes-Benz has announced it will begin building its own worldwide electric vehicle charging network starting in North America this year at a cost of more than $1 billion. When completed in six or seven years, the network will offer 400 charging stations with more than 2,500 high-power plugs. Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge, centrally located on Airline Highway and Sherwood Common Boulevard, has its own charging station and provides free charging to customers who purchase EVs through the dealership. The company also assists buyers in getting scheduled with a preferred provider for home charger installation. Finding charging stations while driving new or routine routes is also easier.
“The vehicles feature an intelligent navigation system that shows charging stations along your routes, and helps you plan where and when to stop,” he says. “It automatically updates as new stations are added.”
Sleek amenities that turn green into glam
If you thought driving a Tesla was the ultimate in luxe driving, you haven’t experienced Mercedes-Benz’s EQ line. Each model, including the sexy and fun EQB crossover (a GLB equivalent), the luxurious EQS Sedan, the EQE Sedan and the powerful EQS SUV—the largest electric SUV in the world—are loaded with amenities that reveal the automaker’s vision for the future of luxury EVs. Here are just a few:
Imprinting your preferences. A biometric fingerprint system triggers your exact preferences, as well as the personal preferences for up to six of your regular passengers.
Gorgeous hyperscreen places infotainment functions, including charging info, at your fingertips. The dash is outfitted with a large hyperscreen option, which creates a seamless control panel for drivers and passengers. Mercedes-Benz highly rated and configurable MBUX infotainment system is now super easy to reach—and easy to use —in this sleek new design. Navigate like a fighter pilot. Pull up your favorite playlist. Monitor and manage your energy consumption. And allow your front seat passenger to access their own personal screen. The system’s AI capabilities get to know your habits, adjusting temperature controls and entertainment preferences with ease.
Precise navigation through heads-up display. Navigation has never been easier with Mercedes’ heads-up display, which feature digital arrows illuminated in your line of sight. You’ll never make a wrong turn.
Highly efficient parking and turning functions. A 360-degree camera, along with rear steering technology, making parking a dream. The 360-degree camera provides round-the-clock security, integrated with the system’s app.
Making the transition to luxury electric is easy. Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge helps customers set up at-home charging stations that make overnight charging easy. And the local dealership has a product concierge on staff who educates new owners about everything they need to know about amenities, warranties and maintenance.
Says Bagbey: “It’s the future of driving. This kind of electric luxury is really exciting.”
