University View Academy (UVA), a K-12 Louisiana charter school, is expanding its range of field trips for the 2023-24 school year, recognizing the importance of in-person interactions for virtual students.
UVA has a long-standing tradition of providing school-sponsored field trips to bridge the gap between virtual and traditional learning environments. By organizing monthly field trips across Louisiana, UVA offers students opportunities to connect with their peers and explore new places. These outings not only provide socialization opportunities, but also create a supportive network for parents.
Beyond social connections, the interactive and immersive learning experiences during field trips are enriching, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. UVA’s commitment to holistic education ensures that virtual students receive a well-rounded education, including memorable experiences beyond the screen. UVA Director of Communications Traci Payne says, “We believe that these hands-on engagement opportunities are critical to the learning environment provided at UVA.”
