Local doctors are putting down their stethoscopes to pick up guitars, drums and microphones for a benefit concert that will raise funds to support youth sports. Orthopaedic surgeon, Wame Waggenspack, MD, with Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic is having his band Blue Verse come together for regional non-profit organization, BROC Foundation for the inaugural BROC, Rock & Wine presented by Audi Baton Rouge.
A one-night benefit concert and wine walk supporting youth athletic programs, BROC, Rock & Wine will be held Saturday, July 29, at the LSU Tiger Stadium in the club suites, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m.
The event will not only feature live music by Blue Verse, but also many wine and cocktail tastings, along with small bites for you to sample, sponsored by local retailers, like Varsity Sports, and will also feature food from Walk-On’s, Ruffino’s and more. All proceeds will benefit athletic training outreach services and sports medicine coverage across the South Louisiana area, with the overall goal of ensuring the safety of children participating in youth sports.
