Ninja warrior obstacle courses, circus arts, parkour—these are just a few of the exciting attractions you can expect to find at GymFit Fest this Saturday.
Hosted by GymFit, a local all-in-one fitness facility specializing in gymnastics, acrobatics and dance, the festival aims to bring Baton Rougeans of all ages together under the umbrella of physical fitness.
The festival kicks off with a series of workshops and classes focusing on everything from balloon animals and hula hoops to aerial hammocks and trapezes. While these workshops are being conducted, live musical performers will take the festival stage. Check out the full schedule of workshops and musical performances here.

Not all activities will require your participation. There will be plenty of live physical performances to take in, as well—from fire spinners to high-flying aerial spectacles. The event’s main attraction, GymFit’s Bayou Cirque, is 4-9 p.m.
If you thought it couldn’t get any better, hold your horses: It’s also entirely free to attend. Just remember to wear sensible shoes if you plan on competing, and keep in mind that the festival will be alcohol-free 3-5 p.m.
GymFit Fest is at Galvez Plaza Saturday, Sept. 1, 3-9 p.m. Galvez Plaza is at 238 North Blvd.
