Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge is partnering with BREC to welcome individuals with disabilities as well as their family and friends to a luau at BREC’s Liberty Lagoon Saturday, Aug. 5, 7-9:30 p.m.
Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge is a non-profit organization and resource center, where individuals with disabilities and their families can go with technical questions and get assistance for any disability at any age. The resource center’s mission is “to provide the individualized services, information and support needed to positively enhance the independence, productivity and integration of persons with disabilities into the community.” Parents and family members of children and adults with disabilities direct and staff this local organization, providing a unique approach and perspective.
This community event at BREC’s Liberty Lagoon includes swimming, music, snacks and more. Each attendee must have a wristband to enter and is asked to bring a swimsuit and towel. Wristbands are $8 per person. For more info or to purchase a wristband, call 216-7474.
