The dog days of summer aren’t over quite yet.
Relay for Life of LSU is hosting their inaugural Bark for Life event on Saturday, Sept. 16. Join the American Cancer Society for music, games, activities for dogs and a one-mile, non-competitive walk for both humans and pups.
In lieu of a registration fee, the organization asks that participants make a donation to the American Cancer Society.

Bark for Life will be held at 777 Ben Hur Road, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The walk will begin at 11 a.m.
After walking with Relay for Life, you’ll still have time to head to Dog Day at the Swamp, one of the few days a year BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center drops its “no pets” policy.

Covering 103 acres, the swamp connects various habitats and is home to hundreds of animal species, including otters, turtles and foxes.
The trails will be open to all, but dogs must be current on their vaccinations and leashed.
Dog Day at the Swamp will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. General admission is $3, but pass holders get in free. The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center is at 10503 Oak Hills Parkway.
