Things to do this weekend in Baton Rouge: Presence Fest, improv and more

Kick off the weekend with an interactive improv show

Go see some interactive improv this Friday, July 7, at Spoof Night hosted by the Family Dinner Comedy Troupe.

Witness comedians poke fun at the film She’s All That play in a night full of interactive skits at the Manship Theatre. It’s a movie experience unlike any other with improvised elements.

The night of comedy starts at 7:30 p.m. and costs $14 a person. Manship Theatre is at 100 Lafayette St.

Be present for Presence Fest Friday and Saturday

Listen to a majestic harp while admiring local art. Presence Fest, two nights of art and musical and spoken word performances at the Art Council of Greater Baton Rouge, opens this Friday and Saturday, July 7-8.

The art on display is by Ashli Ognelodh, and she will be there on the opening night playing alongside other musicians like harpist Wesley Daniels. Presence Fest runs from 6–9 p.m. on July 7-8.

General admission tickets run $45 per person. Get a drink and fill your senses with musical and physical art at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center, 233 St Ferdinand St.

Explore Fresh Fest at the farmers market Saturday

Everything’s just peachy this weekend at the Red Stick Farmers Market. Its annual Fresh Fresh celebrates seasonal produce throughout the summer, focusing on a different item each week now through the end of July.

Saturday’s market is all about peaches, bringing cooking demonstrations, live music, kids activities and more.

The farmers market runs from 8 a.m. to noon in downtown Baton Rouge. Visit breada.org for more info.
