Visit the ZooLights this week
Get into the Christmas spirit at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo annual Zoolights.
ZooLights began the day after Thanksgiving and will end on Dec. 30. It is available every day, except Christmas Eve and Christmas day. The zoo is partnered with The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to receive a 50% discount on admission. Walk a trail through the zoo while viewing over 50 illuminated animal and holiday sculptures. There is a safari photo booth, festive family activities and much more. For more information, visit here.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids and $3 for zoo members. Admission gates open 5:30-8 p.m. and the zoo grounds will close at 9 p.m. The Baton Rouge Zoo is at 3601 Thomas Rd.

See a holiday-themed acrobatic show on Tuesday
The River Center Performing Arts Theatre is presenting Cirque Musica: Holiday Wonderland on Tuesday, Dec. 20
Usher the magic of the holiday season with acrobats, aerialists, hilarious hijinks and holiday spirit. The show will blend the grace and daredevil athleticism of Cirque Musica’s performers set to a musical mix of holiday favorites.
Tickets are from $25 to $100 and available here. The musical will start at 7 p.m. The River Center Performing Arts Theatre is at 300 St. Louis St.
Deck the forest on Wednesday
BREC is hosting its decorating event at Forest Community Park on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Bring the family to enjoy this festive community event. Guests will make wildlife-friendly ornaments and garlands and then use lantern light to venture into the forest. The hosts will speak about the winter solstice and the role of trees in seasonal rituals. Participants are welcome to take decorations home too.
Tickets are $7 and available here. The event is from 5:30-7 p.m. BREC’s Forest Community Park is at 13900 S Harrells Ferry Rd.

Have a fish feast on Thursday
Beausoleil Coastal Cuisine is hosting a Feast of the Seven Fishes on Thursday, Dec. 22.
It’s Christmas week and you’re about to have a fridge packed with holiday leftovers. Take a night off of cooking and let the professionals serve you fine fish while enjoying Beasuloleil’s peaceful ambiance.
