Stay loyal to soil on Monday and Wednesday

BREC’s Loyal to Soil event celebrates the essential bond between people and the land this Monday and Wednesday.

This recurring community-centered event is designed to bring together individuals of all ages and backgrounds who share a passion for gardening or want to learn more.

The event is free for anyone to join and typically takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Anna T. Jordan Community Park.


Meet the maestro on Monday and Tuesday

Get to know the Baton Rouge Symphony’s new music director Adam Johnson while getting in a few swings or testing your knowledge this week during two Meet the Maestro events.

Meet the Maestro Music Trivia will be held Monday at Our Mom’s Restaurant. Meet the Maestro Golf Night takes place on Tuesday at Golf Suites in Baton Rouge. These events promise evenings of camaraderie and harmonious fun.

Our Mom’s Restaurant is at 250 West Lee Drive. Trivia starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free to play. Golf Suites located at 8181 Siegen Lane. The event tees off begins at 7 p.m. and concludes around 9 p.m., and tickets start at $50. 


Sip and flow on Wednesday

Elevate your relaxation and unwind in a unique, refreshing way at Tin Roof Yoga on Tap, Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Head over to Tin Roof for a blend of serenity and sips, where Leela Yoga Lifestyle and Tin Roof Brewing coalesce for the weekly yoga event. Led by experienced yoga instructors, this 60-minute yoga session caters to all levels of experience, from beginners seeking a peaceful introduction to yoga to advanced yogis.

This event is free to attend and takes place every Wednesday at 7 p.m.


Listen to an acoustic guitar master on Thursday

Take a break from the scorching temperatures and let the cool guitar notes wash over you, this Thursday, Aug. 10.

Mark your calendars for Jazz Listening Room Presents – Charlie Rauh. Rauh is an acclaimed guitarist and composer known for his “folk lullabies” and intimate sound.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia & John Noland Black Box Studio at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center, at 233 Saint Ferdinand St. Tickets are viable for purchase online for $20.
