Lunch and learn with LSU Tuesday
Learn the importance of hats and headwear in African American culture this Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the LSU Museum of Art’s Lunch and Learn event.
The museum and LSU MOA educator Brandon Lewis present “Crowns: The Impact and Significance of Hats in African American Culture.” This free, hour-long event includes drinks and LSU encourages you to bring a lunch.
The talk begins at noon. LSU MOA is at 100 Lafayette St.

Dine and drink with Oxbow and Jay Ducote Tuesday
Cocha’s chefs have teamed up with Oxbow Rum Distillery and Guest Chef Jay Ducote to present a five-course rum dinner this Tuesday, Aug. 22.
The carefully curated pairing menu features items like Cantaloupe Curry Lemongrass Crab Gazpacho, Coffee-chilli-rubbed Venison and more to complement sips from the Baton Rouge distillery. Call ahead to make a reservation as seating is limited.
The pairing dinner is $100 per person, plus tax and tip. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. Cocha is at 445 N. Sixth St.

Listen to R&B stars Thursday
R&B lovers, head to the Raising Canes River Center this Thursday, Aug. 24, for The River Center’s Summer Block Party.
The night of performances will feature R&B veterans Jodeci, SWV and Dru Hill.
Tickets range from $49 – $190 and the music starts at at 7:30 p.m. The River Center is located at 275 S. River Road.
